SuSE 7.1, 2.4x, and StarOffice 5.2

by smksensei . Updated 25 years ago

I am running dual-boot with Win2k and SuSE 7.1 (2.4.x kernel) and I run (and love)StarOffice 5.2 on both platforms. I have a FAT32 partition that I use for my back-up and I keep all my StarOffice user folders and files there. I want to set up StarOffice in Linux so that the paths pulll from the FAT32 partition (common user files). This would normally be a simple operation, however I’m running across a problem with S.O. not recognizing files on a drive with any caps in the mounts points. I edited my fstab and mtab files (by simply changing the CAPS to lower-case)and then changing the mount points in “properties” at the desktop icon. All worked great until I rebooted, then they were no longer recognized even by Linux. Any help?
Need anyadditional info?
