Symantec Endpoint Protection won’t uninstall from Win10

    PC initially was running Win7.
The user used the free upgrade and that also rolled the Symantec Endpoint Protection along with it but it is uninstallable.

Tried the instructions by these guys which have helped from the past:

This was installed by a long defunct IT company and a leftover so tried to remove manually from registry but all the registry hooks are locked. Same thing with deleting all Symantec folders – no dice, even with file Unlocker programs.

I even took ownership of registry folders above the offending SEP and still no dice. I believe it is version 12. It’s staying in the system tray no matter what. I am thinking Linux rescue CD, can’t think of anything else.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks!
