It looks like the Palm software will work. This is cop[ied directly from the help file for Palm Desktop 4 (downloadable from Palm.com):
To synchronize Microsoft Outlook Express with your handheld Mail, you must first make sure that Microsoft Outlook Express is properly configured. Select Microsoft Outlook Express in the Mail Setup Wizard, follow the steps to complete Mail Setup, and then make sure your configuration settings are correct in Microsoft Outlook Express.
To configure MicrosoftOutlook Express 4.0
1. Set up MAPI in Outlook Express:
? Select Options from the Outlook Express Tools menu.
? Select the Make Outlook Express My Default E-Mail Program check box.
? Select the Make Outlook Express My Simple MAPI Client check box.
2. Ensure your user name and password are set up correctly within Microsoft Outlook Express.
The handheld Mail needs this information to log onto Outlook Express to retrieve and synchronize your e-mail.
To configure Microsoft Outlook Express 5.0 or higher
1. Set up Outlook Express as your default mail program:
? Select Options from the Outlook Express Tools menu.
? Click the General tab.
? Find the heading Default Messaging Programs.
? If Outlook Express is not the default Mail handler, click the Make Default button.
2. Ensure your user name and password are set up correctly within Microsoft Outlook Express.
The handheld Mail needs this information to log onto Outlook Express to retrieve and synchronize your e-mail.
After you have gone through the Mail Setup, your handheld Mail is ready to synchronize with Microsoft Outlook Express. For instructions on how to change your conduit action (from synchronize), see Related Topics, ?Selecting theMail Conduit Action.”

Outlook Express is a scaledowned version of Microsoft Outlook, and does not have a robust database capability. Thus, it does not even have a contact application of its own. So you cannot sync either your addresses, datebook, memo’s or to do items with outlook express, However with the help of built in mail setup in palm desktop you can sync your mail from and to outlook express.
