System Locks Up

If everything was working fine before you moved the system, there are 2 things to check.

1. Verify that all cables, plug-in cards, and RAM modules are firmly seated.

2. Verify that the AC power is at the correct voltage, and clean.

I use not only surge protection, but AC line noise filtering. This can be critical if you are near an industrial park, or in an apartment complex where the power transformers are working near maximum load.

I use filters from Corcom, and build my own noise filter boxes. Many of the better Surge suppressor lines offer products that include noise filtering.

Chas, Thanks, I noticed that my video card was loose, and I cannot seem to get it to fit any tighter. I think maybe a surge protector is in order. But, what is "noise filtering" Is there a certain component,(name brand),(known company), I can purchase for this?
