System Tray

I am trying to find the equivlent of or the procedure to remove items from the system tray on start up. I have said the system tray before and received info about the start menu. I am refereing to the items that show up in the bottom right side bythe clock. In WIN 98 I would go to Start Run and type msconfig and go to the start up tab and disable the items. I need to know how to do in WIN 2K. Thanks.
