I am currently a student in Management Information Systems and minoring in Computer Science. I will graduate in December of 2002. I have a lot of experience in programming and networking. When I earn my degree I would like to get a job doing Business/IT Consulting. However, without much experience in that arena I assume I’ll have to start at the bottom…which is usually as a programmer for a consulting firm.
My question is this: will pursuing an MCSD cert hinder my ability to get a position in the consulting field? Will recruiters/HR Managers see me more as a programmer than someone suited to be a technical consultant?
