Task Manager Displaying 32-Bit

By Angiver1950 ·
I've a computer with a 64 bit Windows 8.1. Everything that I download is a 64-bit version of the software. Why is my task manager telling me "Google Chrome (32 bit)", etc? All of my programs are displaying as 32 bit rather than 64 bit, even though I'm not downloading 32 bit applications.

I'm not sure why Chrome is only showing as a 32 Bit Version it should show as both a 32 and 64 Bit Versions available. The simple fact of the matter however is that the program like most that where converted to 64 Bit was not fully rewritten for 64 Bit OS's they had bits of the old 32 Bit Software that was built on to run on 64 Bit Platforms so there should be both present.

Also if something happens that the 64 Bit Version doesn't like Chrome switches to run in 32 Bit Mode so you can view the Web Page in question.

While the above isn't Technically Correct it is the simple answer and both version should be present. This also applies to most 64 Bit Software currently available as well.
