Terminal Server Licensing.... tcp?

By ishmell ·
I tried to start this discussion from within the article (http://www.techrepublic.com/article.jhtml?id=r00220030224cba01.htm&src=search), but the link errored out... so here it is under Network Admin.

Hey, this is a great article! I just need to know one thing... the named pipe that terminal servers use to communicate with terminal server license servers... is that encapsulated inside an RPC call? I ask because I'm dealing with IPSec/Firewall issues and I need to know what Ineed to open up so terminal servers can talk to terminal server license servers.

Thanks!

Terminal Services Dependencies

by KhongPhuTu In reply to Terminal Server Licensing ...

Hi,

1. Let get it straight: Are you talking about "Terminal Services" server and client on W2K/NT or are you talking about "Terminal server" used in UNIX? I presume you're talking about the former.

2. As for the intent of what you need to know, all you have to do is to view the properties of the Terminal Services server, dependency tab.

Regards,
