The app can't run on the PC

Hello,
So I have this weird problem. When I try to open a Microsoft Excel document I get an error: This app can't run on your PC.
This started after I upgraded from the trial Win 8.1 to the full release of 8.1 a couple of weeks ago. I'm using Office 2013, and everything else works fine, Word, Project, etc. For some reason my system was associating xls file with Adobe Reader, but I fixed that by right-clicking and using open with. But the file still will not open in Excel. I've tried uninstalling Office and re-installing. No help. Any suggestions ? Thanks

Repair your registry

Check your system file corruption by following these steps:
1. Go to Start > type cmd > right-click Command Prompt > select Run as Administrator
2. Now type the sfc /scannow command.
3. Wait for the scanning process to complete and then restart your computer. All corrupted files will be replaced on reboot.

Hello!
Faulty or corrupted registry keys may also prevent apps from running on your PC. When the screen is showing "This app can't run on your PC", one of the ways is to repair your registry is through CCleaner.
You can also give a try SFC scan(System file Corruption).
