  I saw that article is from February 2021. We’re 2.5 years further now. That’s a lot of future in a fast developing field as web development.
  
  https://websockets.spec.whatwg.org/ tells more about the subject than you want to know. For a basic introduction see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WebSocket .
