The option to enable fast startup is not visible.

    Hey there,
I know this is an easy issue, and all we have to do is open CMD and run “powercfg /hibernate on” and everything will be fine. However, after installing the 21H1 update on my Dell laptop, the Hibernate option is now available, but “Turn on fast startup” is not. I tried everything, but it didn’t work out. I tried everything, but it didn’t work out. Everywhere I look, all I see is this CMD answer. I’m in desperate need of assistance with this problem.

Thank you very much in advance!

In reply to The option to enable fast startup is not visible.

I checked in my 21H1 Windows, and it’s still present in the Power options > Choose what the power buttons do > Change settings that are currently unavailable in Control Panel.

Anyway, there is no need to be desperate. It’s a rather unnecessary function, especially if the laptop (as laptops nowadays do) boots from an SSD in stead of a HDD. Did you ever measure the difference between normal startup and fast startup? How many seconds was it?

And a tip to save you time (more time than fast startup gives you):
If you need to repeatedly give the same command in CMD (like you describe above) put it in a batch file stored in your Startup folder (than it’s run automatically after booting) or on your desktop (then it’s just one click to run it).
