The process “store.exe”

I have Small Business Server 2000 running on a W2K server. A nightly full system backup happens every night on a scsi tape drive. After a sucessful backup there’s this process “store.exe” that uses up almost half of the server’s available memory. Can i simply end this process, or will it affect the exchange server if i do so? Any ideas?
