This smells like a scam

By jardinier ·
Would anyone in their right mind give the information requested in this form?

http://www.tlavideo.com/tla_intl_permission.pdf

The website sells, among other things, used DVDs priced from 99 cents.

Would anyone in their right mind

follow the link?

You've been posting on this site a long time, Julian. You know that this is a tech site so you can surely do better than this.

your seeming need to make derogatory remarks about anything I post.

If you can't just address the question, please keep your mouth shut.

It is a legitimate question and quite appropriate to be posted at techrepublic. Perhaps you might suggest a website where it might be more appropriate to ask this question. I purchase a lot of stuff online and have never encountered anything remotely like this.

So you apparently think I am a moron and I think you are a supercilious ***-hole.

Please grow up or get a life.

Julian, I called you no names

and offered you no insults. More in sorrow than with any other emotion, I said that you could do better. If you choose to infer "moron" from my post, then that is your problem.

And then you posted: "Of course I would not fill in the form. And it would not require a tech savvy person to see it for what it is. Anyone who has made even one online purchase would immediately recognize it for what it is."

So why bother to inflict it on us? We KNOW what these sites look like, what they do and how they do it. The very best thing to do with these sites is to IGNORE THEM. Any tech with half a brain knows this. The site will get more hits courtesy of you.

Ummmm...yeah right

Any mildly tech savy individual would not touch this form with a 10 foot pole. Although I have seen worse from legitimate companies, this is definitely one of those things that raises red flags with me. Picture ID? Copy of the credit card statement? Are you kidding?

No I am not kidding. Of course I would not fill in the form. And it would not require a tech savvy person to see it for what it is. Anyone who has made even one online purchase would immediately recognize it for what it is.

Thank you for answering the question politely in contrast to another person who prefers to play the role of pigeon or troll.

I think it is

There is too much weird stuff being requested for me to participate in this. But there is a sucker born every minute. All you need is a couple of 'em and your set.
