Time Services

By Whatme? ·
I have a problem on my DC. I set it up to syncronize offsite but not working. I can't syncronize w/another DC either.
When asked to sync using w32tm /set I get the message RPC to local server returned 0x0
What does this mean and how the "h" can i get this time stuff to stop

Your DC is supposed to set its time by an Internet (or corporate) time server. This must be configured using NET TIME /SETSNTP:<ntp server list>

Note: Only the PDC FSMO can do this for the forest.

See;en-us;216734 for more info.

Done exactly this. on the main DC w/fsmo. Simply does not work. No use looking through Microsoft. even thiough I have read every article they printed on this. My main DC won.t sync w an external time server. no firewall problems either.
Read my error.

You could try:

1. Using Network Monitor to capture DC traffic and lookout for UDP port 123 communication failures. Restart the Windows Time service to initiate a time set.
2. Probably dumb but make sure you have (or the Windows Time service has) the right to Change the system time and that no higher policy is conflicting.
