Time to consider Grid Computing?

Do you think your organization will embrace Grid Computing, as discussed in this week's Application Developer Management e-newsletter? Even if you do, do you think it may take awhile to catch on? What benefits do you hope to glean from this technology?

ROI

Companies, like mine, will look toward grid computing if there is an acceptable ROI.

Grid computing will be made more difficult by a mobile workforce unless wireless expands beyond the brick & mortar. Even then, the integrity of grid computing may be questionable. What happens to the units of work my laptop was performing when I unplug it from the docking station and take it home?

Good Idea, May Take Awhile

Definitely worth considering just for the fact to make optimum use of an organizations resources.

Yet, I do not understand as to why it makes good business sense for companies like IBM, SUN, etc. to be investing their resources in developing Grid Computing products.
