Title frames?

By tobias.eriksson ·
My business's site (financial services)use frames but would now like to add a search facility. To get relevant results I would like to title my pages. How do I do that when using frames?

Title frames?

Using frames, the title of the main page containing the <frameset> tag is the title that will appear (if that property is set on the page. If that property is not, my experience has been that the first frame with a title set in it, automatically isdisplayed as the title even though the main page (the one containing the initial <frameset> tag) has not changed.

Try setting no <title></title> tag for any pages until you get to the pages that will open in the main frame of the page. That should solve your problem.

What do you mean by "To get relevant results I wouldl like to title my pages"? Do you mean you want the title of the window to be that of the searched result? With frames, the only way you can set the browser's title is using Script.
Try:
<Head>
<Script Language="Javascript">
window.document.title = "<The Title You Want>";
</Script>
</Head>
Wrote this off hand but should not differ much from this.
