To IE7 and Back Again - Now Everything's Messed Up

By artcabot2 ·
I was having problems with my IE6, so I went ahead and upgraded to IE7. It was acting flakey (surprise!, surprise!) so I uninstalled. Now when I go to my Outlook Web Access, I get the navigation bar on the left, but nothing works and nothing ever loads into the right-hand pane. I've also gone to another vendor's web mail access and things like the "Select All" drop down don't select all. I know there's a setting somewhere that I'm missing, probably something to do with ActiveX, but everything I've checked looks normal. I've even reduced the security level of my "Trusted Sites" to Low and OWA still won't work.

Ideas anyone?

There and Back Again by Bilbo Baggins.

install a browser. That might solve some of the problem.

I do agreed with that. Try to install another browser like Firefox or Opera ....

Firefox: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/
Opera: http://www.opera.com/download/

I hope it solves your problem.

Rather than just dump IE, I'd like to find out what's happening and FIX it. There is SOME reason why IE will not run any active content, that's why I only get a "Loading" in the right pane of OWA and why clicking on something in the left pane produces no results --- something's keeping IE from running those controls. This also happens on other web sites with their controls.
