Tools for a multi-platform WAN/LAN

by mike_shimandle . Updated 23 years, 8 months ago

I presently run AIX, Netware 5.1, windows NT 3.51, 4.0 and Windows 2000 server. My clients are Win95, Win98, and we are now getting in Win2000 PCs. We primarily use our Netware server to manage printing, file sharing/storage and applications. The Windows NT and 2000 servers are for a single application requiring a SQL Server.
Has anyone found good monitoring/administration software that will let me know:
1. What’s going on with the network traffic.
2. Where my print jobs are going to die.(and why?)
3. Allow remote management of my PC’s (either full-bodied or just the ability to see who has what on their PC).
It would be great if this were all in one clean and neat package, but it doesn’t have to be.
Cost, as always, is a big concern.

Thanks for your help in advance,

Mike Shimandle
