Toshiba Satellite wont boot up

By hvnut ·
I have two Toshba Satellite laptops with the same problem. They both have had the power plug problem repaired. The fan starts and then stops after first turned on and then nothing happens when it starts to boot. I suspect the internal bios battery. Can anyone please help?

Well it's not possible to be a BIOS Battery

Mainly because they don't have one.

Well not if they are the newer Satellite's as they use what is Called Smart Socket Technology where what is a Smart Socket is fitted tot he M'Board to run the RTC and BIOS Chip.

This consists of what is effectively a rechargeable battery built onto the M'Board that provides the power for the BIOS Chip when Mains Power isn't available.
