when you've got a sore back and can't lie down for half a week so you spend over 20 hours a day playing on the Internet to keep from being bored to death.

Everyone have a great weekend.

Oh man, Col's gonna have a field day with all my "negative votes"!
Have a great weekend everyone, and to all you fellow US folks,
have a safe holiday. While I'll probably close the store, I will be
on call (always!). Any birthdays this week?? Nobody got any
older? Hehe!

Because this weekend is going to be all day every day.

Then I get a couple weeks of slow before the buildup to Thanksgiving!

I used to break horses to ride...

sometimes that can be pretty rough too! Still have a scar on
my chin, my chin was not near as hard as the horse's head!

Love 'em, but they don't love me. I traded my services as a stable hand to a friend that had horses for riding lessons. I continued after getting knocked into a large pile of fresh manure, but getting scraped off into a large patch of cactus just reinforced that me on the back of a horse is not something that would end well.

It took quite a while to get the cactus needles out of my butt. Luckily, it was winter and I had a heavy jacket and heavy work gloves on. The jeans were no match for the cactus.

Not something that my Grandfather would accept

by HAL 9000 Moderator In reply to I used to break horses to ...

He was a very strong supporter of Horses and was known to insist that there was no need to make a horse sweat. As for the first time they got ridden breaking to him was never an option he preferred other ways.

His own children where terrified of him if they mistreated a horse as they knew exactly what would happen to them. He worked on Sheep Stations well managed them here and when moving sheep he would spend hours checking the ground for rocks and remove them where the horses where stabled for the night.

He taught me very well that if you look after your Tools be they animals or bits of wood and metal that they will look after you.
