Tracking outgoing email

By pimmy ·
Hi
My friend and I are running a business from home. I have a problem with tracking email on the way out, I mean, how can I find out if emails were responded and replied. I normally have to cc our enquiry email address which my friend can see it too. But he doesn't do the same. So often we ended up with send 2 responses email to our clients. I use Outlook Express on Windows XP and my friend is using Windows Mail on Vista business. I would like to know if there is anyway, easier way, to track the outgoing emails or automatically tracked.

IMAP?

by roberto In reply to Tracking outgoing email

If both of you are using the same mail server, and the mail server supports IMAP, you could both use the same account so send/receive emails. You cold then also both see the IMAP folder structure, which, depending on the mail server, could contain the "Sent Items" folder as well. This folder would contain your sent emails, whicih would be visible to both.

IMAP, nice idea but we are on POP

by pimmy In reply to IMAP?

It's a nice idea, thanks. So far we are on a POP with 2 different mailboxes but both of us as an alias map of the "enquiry" mail to both of us. I will contact our ISP to find out about IMAP, if they can give us the service.
