Tracking the changes in a specific folder

We have a seperate folder where all of my employees used to save their document(.pdf or .doc). I need to track the changes made to that folder in a Excel sheet. Can anyone help me in this regard which would bebefit me a lot.

Depends on what kind of changes you need to track.

Your best choice is to turn on the appropriate level of auditing for that directory. How to do this varies depending on what version of Windows you're running, but you can use this link as a starting point:

This will store your information in the events log and you can convert it to an Excel format by using something like Microsoft's LogParser program.


Make sure you increase the size of the event log to allow it to hold enough information for you purposes.
