Trouble printing jpg

By jmpderby ·
From one particular vendor, cannot print a jpg file though I am able to print from other vendors. It's a 4-color job. Comes out solid black at600, grey at 300. Whole page is laying out toner. No image. Can print other jpg attachements from others. Same file sent to a partner at company and he was able to open it.
Have HP officejet 5510. HP site says updated driver available in June. Could driver update be the answer or what else could be problem. I also am having trouble opening pdf files. Have Adobe Acrobat. New computer. Installed in mid July.
Help! I'm new here and don't want to look like an idiot.

Make a HP5510 driver and setup the output to a file (on your hard drive)=>print the picture (you'll be asked to save a file with a .PRN extension on your HDD)=>start=>run=>cmd=>Alt+enter=>type in the dos prompt (first you'll need to change the folder or to type a full path to the prn file):

copy filename.prn >prn /b

This can be a lack of memory in the printer

Are you trying to print the background? Don't

the answer lies not in the printer but in the software that is handling the jpeg is my 2 cents. you have given yourself proof all jpeg's not the same. find out what buddy uses that can open it. or ask buddy to try resaving it for you you may find you can open it then.
when folks with new computers tell me they are having trouble opening pdf's what i usually find is that the are taking long time because they are on internet over maybe poor connection and they think the delay is error. if you are actually getting errors or if you have installed or uninstalled adobe products lately in your quest to print this jpg, then i suggest re-downloading and re-installed latest version of acrobat reader
