Trouble shoooting incomming SMTP email

By JoshuaJ ·
I'm having a problem with incomming SMTP mail arriving at a Exchange 5.5 server. The Internet Mail Service has been configured right and has been working fine for months. Sudenly, it's stopped receiving incomming internet email. Outgoing email worksjust fine and so does intra-office email through exchange is also working.

What is the best way to track what's goign on with the incomming SMTP mail?

Go to Start>Settings>Control Panel-Double click the mail icon, click on options, then click on the server tab, check your settings to see if they are correct, make sure you have not enabled the filter box.

I thought that in the configuration of Exchange their was a LOGGING option that allowed to you view activity on incoming mail. This may or may not be of assistance, but worth a "look see".

So far, I've found out that my ISP dropped my A and MX entries from thier DNS servers. So that's why incomming mail isn't arriving.
