Trouble to connect a DV Camera to USB

by christophe.labbe . Updated 24 years, 4 months ago

I have a JVC DV Camera ( DVP3 ) and a PC running Windows 98 SE…

I have also a 1394 IEEE card in my compter and I use it to connect my camera to the firewire port and get the video to the computer. ( that work fine )

BUT with this camera I can also take some picture stored on a small card ) and transfer to the PC trough the USB port …And I have some problem to do it fine …

After some troubles due to some missing drivers ( USBNTMAP.SYS and USBRESTOR.SYS ) not found on my Windows 98SE CD ( I finally found them on the web ) I can connect successfully the camera to the USB port and the “unplug and eject Hardware” windows shows it successfully as “Disk on JVC DV Camera” but in “My Computer” I do not have the REMOVABLE DISK icon has describe in the JVC tech doc …

Any ideas of what is missing on my PC ?
( Note : I have a drive C and D and my CD is on drive E )
