TR'S HOT TOPIC: DEALING WITH IT BURNOUT

This week at TechRepublic, the main topic of discussion was IT burnout,
and how to deal with it. Many TR members confessed to losing their
passion for IT, while others blamed burnout on a psychopathic boss or
old-fashioned office politics. Even when your boss is sane, it's still
hard to recover from your own massive foul-ups, and should you be shown
the door, TR members certainly don't trust IT headhunters to help them
get back into a career groove.

FEATURE ALERT: BLOG SEARCH

Because you demanded it (and we finally solved a nagging index bug),
we've added a text-search feature for TechRepublic blogs. Just head to
our main Blogs page and you'll see the search field just above our
Featured Bloggers. It's our way of saying that what you want to find is
more important than what we want to show you. As usual, it's all about
you.

LAST WEEK'S MOST ACTIVE TECHNICAL Q&A QUESTIONS

XP PRO BOOT PROBLEM
Member THARFUNK says: "When I boot up, [my XP Pro] system will allow me
to open the BIOS, but will not get past the screen that shows IDE
devices. It will freeze at this point. System will not boot to safe
mode or any other setting. What to do?" Twenty or so comments and
responses later, and the problem still isn't solved. See if you can
crack this week's toughest IT nut.
