TR'S HOT TOPICS: NEW TR MEMBERS, SAME OL' MICROSOFT

Apparently, there's no time like the holidays to begin posting in the
TechRepublic forums, as three different members started get-to-know-me
threads last week, and two of them became top-five discussions. Thus,
to JOCEY, KEVIN DUBYA, and LARGE (formerly Andy), welcome to the party.

On a marginally more technical topic, Sony is still getting reamed for
its little rootkit DRM stunt, but Microsoft was also called out for its
own stealth software history. Somehow, this segues nicely into last
week's most popular question: Which is more difficult--cooking a turkey
or securing a Windows XP machine? Seventy-five responses later, and the
issue still isn't properly settled, though the roast turkey and pumpkin
pie recipes do seem a little more worth the effort than locking down
buggy Gates-ware.
