Turn an app into a service

    by nosrednaanit ·

We are in need of a tool/utility that will make an NT service out of a home-grown application. I have heard there are products out there that do things like this, but don’t have any names. Also, if you have used a product like this, any tips on making it work smoothly would be greatly appreciated. TIA, Tina

Hi, in the Microsoft Nt server resource kit there is the tool, SRVANY.exe which will allow you to run a 32-bit app as a service. According to the documentation, the app should be written for NT for best results. This tool will allow the same functionality with 16 bit apps but results will vary. I hope this helps.

Search your favorite shareware site for Service-It by Active+ Software. Haven’t used it, but it is getting a lot of shareware awards.

If you go to the microsoft website do a search for autoexnt.exe . It is an app to service utility as well.
