I have a situation where i need a computer to have two nic cars, one to access a lan and the other for the internet. This computer also has a printer that is shared attached to it.
I am having a problem, the printer is shared with the two other computers on the lan. These other computers send automatic reports each evening to this printer.When both nic cards are enabled on the computer with the printer, the other computers are not able to print after a day or two.
This computer with two nic cards has a primary roll as a backup to a database located on one of the other computers on the lan and thus, I need this connection to be the most stable. The internet connection is simply for remote access through VNC and a means for the computer to periodically send out the new database entries via email.
How do I make this printer sharing connection more stable? And how is this goint to effect my email capability out of the computer?
