typing an email in Yahoo causes letters to jump

I have a new Dell laptop with a wireless mouse and internet. When I type into my Yahoo mail screen the letters jump all over the page. This does not happen when typing in Word. My computer geek repair man cannot find the answer. Any suggestions?
