Ubuntu Hardy Wireless Problem

by tatauwal . Updated 17 years, 8 months ago

Hi all,
I have a HP Pavilion dv2000 with ubuntu hardy installed. My problem is my wireless card is not picking any signal. When I run ifconfig I noticed there’re 2 wireless adapters a wlan0 and a wmaster0 as shown below.

wlan0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:1b:77:eb:f8:c4
UP BROADCAST MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1
RX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0
TX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0
collisions:0 txqueuelen:1000
RX bytes:0 (0.0 B) TX bytes:0 (0.0 B)

wmaster0 Link encap:UNSPEC HWaddr 00-1B-77-EB-F8-C4-00-00-00-00-00-00-00-00-00-00
UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1
RX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0
TX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0
collisions:0 txqueuelen:1000
RX bytes:0 (0.0 B) TX bytes:0 (0.0 B)

I hope someone can help me sot out this problem.

Thanks

Tata
