Unable to detect Sound media

Hi,
Yesterday I made my system dual boot with window 2k and windows XP with NTFS. In windows XP it itself detected sound but in windows 2000 , Sound is not working . What can be the cause. I was told that sound card is in built with my P4 system. How to detect the make of this sound card. how to get sound in w 2k.
