Unable to logon to FTP server

Running NT 4.0 service pack 6, with IIS 2.0. I was able to do file transfers before. Now a get the error below.

Error: The server was unable to logon the windows NT account due to the following error: The parameter is incorrect. The data is the error code.

I tried to login from the Command Prompt this is what I got.

331 Anonymous access allowed, send identity <e-mail name> as password
530 user me@email.com cannot log in
login failed

It looks like your FTP client is sending me@email.com as the user name. Try changing the username in the client to Anonymous.

I changed the user name under IIS manager and gave it a password, still unable to log on.
I gave the Anonymous user a password and still nothing.

What am I doing wrong?

I'm trying to ftp from my XP machine to my NT server from the command promp.

331 Anonymous access allowed, send identity (e-mail name) as password.
Password:

I don't understand the password I assigned in IIS manager doesn't work.

I loged on like this and it worked

ftp:domain\username
password
