Unable to read response from printer

by miklv . Updated 24 years, 11 months ago

I have a Canon BJC 5000 I recently tried to convert from a parallel port to a USB port with a cable that has the centronics connection on one end and the USB on the other. After installing the software for the cable the printer was changed from LPT1to LPT2 – LPT2:(BUSlink USB to Parallel Port). Now when I try to use that printer I get a message telling me there was no response from the printer, even though the printer is on and everything is connected. In the printer settings the LPT2 is shownas the port for the BJC 5ooo. I’m using a Canon Multipass C5500 on LPT1 and an Epson 875DC on a USB connection with no trouble at all. Is there a solution to my problem so I can use the BJC 5000 along with the others?
