WARNING! Install Aborted — Unable to write to the registry. you may require administrator privliges to complete the installation.
This is the warning/error message I get when trying to update the ROMBIOS of a 28.8 modem (to 56K) inside of a Compaq Armada 7792. I have complete administrator privliges on my local machine. I recently rebuilt this laptop and I was able to install everything including the update. I then logged into the domain (which I think caused the problem). I uninstalled the modem shooting a related trouble. I reinstalled the modem, whiched worked, then tried to reinstall the update. Did’nt work! I have already figured out it is NOT a policy.
Please explain as well as give me a fix. Thank You, Trainer
