Unbuntu works with Active Directory?

By tstrowd ·
I have Ubuntu in the past but have noticed there is really no interest in making it play well with Microsoft Active Directory. In fact i have asked many questions on the subject on the Ubuntu forums and 99% didn't have a clue what active directory was.
Has this changed?

Samba is probably still working on better integration between Linux and AD, but you must consider that AD was entirely proprietary, and until forced to do so, MS does not reveal anything to allow interoperability.

Microsoft with Linux

I think Suse Linux works the best with AD. It would be nice to see other linux distros like Ubuntu work well with AD. When that time comes you will see a lot more Linux in business networks.
