unerase files on NAS device

does anyone know of a product to recover deleted files from a NAS device? I have a Buffalo Terrastation 1 TB. thanks.

While this is not cheap it's fast east and reliable so it would be your best option in this case.

tried it yesterday

but it will not recognize the NAS over the net. dont seem to have the ability to connect locally to PC.

any other ideas?

That is the only product that I can think of

You may have to move the drives if they are in a RAID setup to a local computer and rebuild the boot files that way or one drive at a time.

While there are always the Data Recovery
houses I always try to keep these as a last resort. This may be of some use and while aimed at servers it should work with NAS Devices though a quick phone call to On Track might be a better alternative,

yes I have a freeby called Handy Recover; this works ok for me. The old version is free.

Hi Frank
I've got the same problem & require a utility to recover files from a Maxtor500. Seagate's file recovery can't see the device & I didn't get very far with their support people.
I'm very much interested if you found anything which can do the job?

haven't found anything and have given up. even data recovery companies say that its near impossible.

Removing the drives from the NAS and recovering data off them individually in a computer have you?

... thought about it but not sure about the OS & file structure on the unit & how a Windows and/or Linux machine would see it & maybe cause more damage?
