Unexplained glitches impacting user experience on my website.

    by jacksonpilot466 ·

I am reaching out for help as my website is currently facing a puzzling situation that is affecting the overall user experience. Users have reported encountering glitches and issues while navigating our site and despite extensive checks on our backend, server logs and CMS the root cause remains elusive.

These unexpected disruptions are impacting specific features on my website, making it challenging for visitors to access the information they need. Given that we have not made recent changes to these functionalities.

Could these issues be linked to recent core updates in web development standards. I have gone through the usual trouble shooting steps without success and any advice from your experiences would be greatly appreciated.

If you require more details about my website to provide targeted assistance, please feel free to ask, and I’ll promptly provide the necessary information.

Have you or your team replicated the issue? Sadly some try SEO, self-promotion or outright spam by writing there’s a bug in a website.

Targeted assistance is often paid for if your current team is out of their depth.

It’s unlikely recent web standards are the culprit since you haven’t made changes. More likely, it could be a hidden bug in your CMS or a conflict with a plugin. Have you tried temporarily disabling plugins one by one to see if that isolates the issue?

It sounds like annoying glitches are hitting your website! Here are some quick things to try:

      1. Clear cache: Ask users to clear their browser cache (like restarting their browser).
      2. Disable extras: Temporarily turn off any plugins or widgets.
      3. Check browsers: See if the problems happen everywhere (different browsers, devices).
      4. Share your site: If none of those work, send me your website URL and I’ll see if I can spot anything.

The glitches and issues you’re experiencing on your website could indeed be related to recent core updates in web development standards. Core updates can sometimes cause unexpected behavior in websites, especially if they rely on outdated code or deprecated practices. Here are some steps you can take to diagnose and address the issues.

Check if there have been any recent updates to web browsers or development frameworks that your website relies on1. Sometimes, an update can deprecate features or change how certain elements are handled, which can lead to glitches.
Use tools like the W3C Validator to ensure that your website’s code adheres to current web standards. Invalid code can sometimes cause rendering issues or other unexpected behavior.
Review your website’s code for any deprecated HTML, CSS, or JavaScript features. Replace them with modern equivalents if necessary.
Use Google Search Console or Bing Webmaster Tools to check for any crawl errors or notices that could indicate problems with your website.
Ensure that your website is tested across all major browsers to identify any compatibility issues that might have arisen due to browser updates.
Use performance testing tools to check if any bottlenecks could be causing the glitches, such as slow server response times or large, unoptimized assets.
Collect detailed feedback from users about the glitches they are experiencing, including the actions they were taking when the issue occurred and any error messages they saw.
