Uninstall Office 97 Pro on Windows 2000

For compatability issues we had to install Office 97 Pro onto Windows 2000 machine after uninstalling Windows 2003 Office Std. What is the best scenario to reinstall 2003 Office Std.? Bearing in mind cleaning up registry entries ect. which could cause conflicts.
