Uninstalling LILO and Linux partitions

By steve.doig ·
G'Day,

I'm running Win98 with a Linux partition. I have LILO installed in the MBR.
I deleted the linux partitions without doing anything about LILO, causing LILO to partially boot, displaying LI only. I can't get into windows at all, even though its the default boot option.

How do I remove LILO from the MBR?

I have booted from an old win95 HDD, but it won't recognise the win98 partitions on the original HDD. Is this because of fat32?

Thanks for some help.

Cheers,

Steve.

You need to use a 98 or 95 startup disk/rescue disk, boot up with the floppy, type fdisk /mbr and restart.
