General discussion



Greetings to all. I was with IBM for 34 1/2 years. The last 10 years were difficult because of low pay, etc.

Unions may be a good idea if you have enough representation. If there aren't enough IT's in the area to help the union get organized it's hardly worth the effort.

While with IBM I checked into one union and they didn't have the power to do anything to help. After I left IBM I checked into another one to help in regain benefits. Locally in Colorado there isn't enough interest to do any good.

Remember, if you join a union some of your paycheck will go to support that union. If there aren't enough members to help support the union then you will spend a lot of time and money trying to make it worthwhile.
