Hi,

May be all your problem is to set up the remote access to your win2k pc. So check out that the ftp client is by default sending the user and password using Win NT security format, and you need to change the settingto plain text format. And then you are going to be able to conect your systems.

Good Luck !

Is it possible that the telnet service and ftp service daemons are not configured to run on the server? That could explain why the machines can ping each other but the client cannot connect to the server.

If there is a firewall in place between the two machines, then that might also be stopping communications on telnet and ftp.

Your PC can belong to different dial up networks through its modem. It will dial up one ISP and be assigned a IP address to be a part of its network.

Later, you can dial up a different ISP and get a completely different IP address to be a part of its (different) network.
