Unix Comunication

By FCH ·
We have a cluster environment, (Windows 2000 Advanced Server)

We need to communicate the Server Windows 2000 with RS / 6000 through a cable UTP (crossover) then from a station of the net NT will place information in a directory of the RISC via NFS or FTP. This communication should be in bidirectional form.
What services should install for this?

Well, two ways really:

1) go to http://www.xlink.com/ and checkout the OMNI-NFS products.

2) use FTP as you suggested. Setup an FTP server on the RS/6000 and ftp the files in to it. I'm assuming that if your using a crossover cable between servers, then your also using dedicated network cards at each end of it. If each machine can ping the other, then using ftp should work fine.

I've used the Omni-NFS software in the past and I liked it very much. Make sure you take a look at it.
