unix DesignJet driver, print mode front

By taco ·
The Unix driver resets the control panel print quality to final regardless of control panel selection. There is no place in the driver to specify quality. ANY IDEAS?

I assume you are using the automated setup provided by HP JetAdmin. If so, it installs a utility called jetprint. It allows you to prepend / append options to your print job such as quality, orientation, tray, etc. These options can also be passed directly with the lp command, e.g. lp -o2up filename.ext will give you 2 up printing.

see www.hp.com/cposupport/networking/support_doc/bpj02740.html for details.

The first answer looks good to me. If that doesn't work, try something else. Hope this helps.
