    I have just started using Unix, and I was wordering if any of you Unix experts could give me any GOOD web sites which will be useful for tips and resources in this arena.

      There are several. I would suggest starting with http://www.usenix.org for the Unix Users Group.
      http://www.ugu.com has some great tips.
      If you’re going to be doing systems adminsitration, and depending on the flavor of Unix, there are many other groups.

      Don’t forget the company you bought your system(s) from. Especially if you are using one of the propriatary versions (HP, Sun, IBM, etc.).

      Since you did not specify the “flavor” of UNIX you use (HP-UX, Solaris, linux, UnixWare, AIX, SCO…) then I’ll have to refer to one of my favorites that will cover ALL flavors of UNIX. It is called Unix Guru Universe (www.ugu.com). Don’t let the name scare you, it has lots of good entry level information for you. The main page has a link just for people who are new to UNIX. Don’t forget to read the daily UNIX tip in the Help Me section. Enjoy!
