Updateable CD bussines cards

I was reading about a company on internet that do updateable CD business cards.
Anyone know how does it work?, I mean, if the information of the Business card is on a CD how can it be updateable?, unless the information is not on a CD. Someone hastold me that what it does is, the CD have a link to a WEBSITE or portal that shows the actual business information. It's that right?

Could use CD-RW

by TheChas In reply to Updateable CD bussines ca ...

A web link would work, and would make sense for someone to offer as a service.

However, if you wish to be able to easily update the data, just use CD-RW blanks instead of CD-R blanks.

problems on reading

If they use a CDRW, would it be possible to read the business card in any standard CDROM, I though that the CDRW can only be read on CD WRITER...anyway, thanks for your opinion

Multi-Read CD drive

by TheChas In reply to problems on reading

Most modern (24X and faster) CD-ROM drives can read CD-RW disks. Any drive that conforms to the Multi-Read standard can read a CD-RW disk.

Starting with Windows 98SE, Microsoft included CD-RW reading software.

Also, some CD-RW creation programs add onto the CD the software to read CD-RW files.
That is why some CD-RWs have a lower total capacity.
