Updating Excel links in Word 97

By chicano ·
Hello dear colleagues,

I linked a MS Excel file into a MS Word 97 document. The link to the file is working fine.
But whenever I want to update the linked file (with F9), the format of the file and the whole page setup changes. (It changes back from landscape to portrait) etc...
I did some changes on the Excel file within the word file, so that it fits well. Can some one tell me, how I can change the format of the linked file so that it fits the size and doesnt change the format, when I update it?
Thanks for letting me know and kind regards,
Walter

Hi Chicano,
See if this helps:

Insert a text box in teh word file. Convert it into a frame (right click on the border of the text box and click the "convert to frame" button)
Drag and adjust the width of the frame as you require.
Now insert the excel file into this frame.

Good luck.
David

(The "convert to frame" button will be found when you right click the border of the text box, select "format text box" option)
