Updating to version 1809 (re-release)

By DorklyGeek ·
I am having an issue updating to the newest feature update, it doesn't matter whether I'm using the update assistant or the media creation tool. After it gets to about 15%, it restarts my computer, then it immediately rolls back any changes. I have tried everything, I deleted recommended folders (software distribution I think), disabled antivirus, stopped and started services. It does it every time still. The only thing I could think of that may be wrong is that it shows in Windows Update that I need to restart to install version 1809 even though when I restart it doesn't (version 1809 was downloaded to my computer but not installed during the first rollout). Maybe its conflicting somehow?

RE: Updating to version 1809 (re-release)

I appreciate you for trying some steps in order to get the issue fixed.

Windows 10 has a built-in troubleshooter to check and fix issues with Update. I would suggest you to run this troubleshooter to check if the issue is with your Windows update.

Refer these steps:

1. Press Windows key + X, select Control panel.

2. Change the view by option on the top right to Large icons.

3. Click on Troubleshooting and click on the view all option on the left panel.

4. Run the Windows Update troubleshooter.

5. Restart the system and check if the issue is resolved.

Please revert if you face any issues with Installing Windows updates.
