Upgrade from Exchange 5.5 to 2000

We rescently upgraded from Exchange 5.5 to 2000 without to much of a problem. Now a couple of users are reporting that they were receiving encrypted messages that worked under exchange 5.5 now come blank with no data and the certificate that was part of the email is now missing.

Any assistance would be appreciated.
