Upgrading WinXP to Win2K3

By joykiranr ·
Hi, I was trying out something on Win2K3. Somehow i got an idea to upgrade to Win2K3 from WinXP. But when i started the upgradation, i got an error popping out displaying "Upgrade is not supported".

Why it can not be upgraded?

Because you cannot upgrade WinXP to Win2K3

As far as I know, this is so because WinXP is a Client Operating System and Win2K3 is a Server Operating System. You can upgrade WinXP to WinVista as they are both Client Operating Systems.

Why would you want to anyway?

What reason would there be to upgrade a workstation, with its workstation hardware, to become a server?

I went in to a garage and asked if my car could be upgraded to a Ferrari. They said sure...it would cost but I would need a new car.

I asked why can't I just upgrade the car I have and just throw the Ferrari engine in (my car).

Why can't I throw the Ferrari engine in my car?
